Suggest Medication For Swelling And Pain Caused Due To Bug Bite?

I have pain and slight swelling in wrist. Think it is from bug bite since there was a mark there and intense itching. It has been about one week and pain and swelling still there although itching is gone. Do I need to see dr or will it go away on its own.

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

The pain and swelling at the site of insect bite after cessation of itching seems to be due to infection at the site of bite..
I would suggest you to apply a combination of steroid and triple antibiotic ointment over it..
You should take anti inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen and a short script of antibiotics after consulting a local physician..
Do cool compresses over the swelling..
Avoid scratching it again and again as it can spread infection and also inflammation..
It will resolve in a week..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
