Suggest Medication For Upper Abdominal Pain And Inflamed Stomach Lining
My wife has not had a bowl movement other than fluids in over a month. She has continuous pain and pressure in her upper abdomen and always feels that she has to go but can t. testing (both oscapes) shows that she has severe inflammation of the stomach lining. Her ph level is 4.5 what can you recommend Thanks Greg
If she is having persisting liquid stools or diarrhea then she should be assessed.
The causes of chronic diarrhea are: (1) irritable bowel syndrome (2)inflammatory bowel disease- crohns disease, ulcerative colitis (3)infection (4)diabetes (5)thyroid disease (6)side effect of medication
She would need a stool sample to the lab, blood tests to screen for inflammation, diabetes and thyroid disease. In addition , imaging of the bowel by scoping may be needed.
The use of PPI medications such as nexium, prevacid, prilosec at the highest possible dose would help with the stomach inflammation. She would also need to modify her diet.
I hope this helps
