Suggest Medication For Vomiting ,nausea And Stomach Pain
My child (6 yrs) had vomiting & nausea 3 days ago. She had vomited about 15 times in 12 hours. Doctor gave her Ondansetron 4mg tablet and she was fine after having 1 tablet. However, again since yesterday she has been complaining about stomach pain. She also vomited twice in the past 36 hrs and I gave her Ondansetron 4mg tablet (2 tablets in the past 36 hrs), which stopped the vomiting. I gave her only light food (without fat/oil/milk) and ORS in the past 3 days. Please advise what should be done.

Presence of persistent vomiting in a child following possibility needs to be considered
1. Metabolic disorder
2. Surgical cause: To rule out possibility of malrotation of midgut
I would suggest the following in consultation with your physician
1. Erect X Ray abdomen
2. Ultrasound abdomen
3. Serum Electrolyte level
