General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It is not necessary for both of you to reach a climax at the same time for conception to occur. Your climax is not associated with the release of 'eggs' or anything necessary for a baby. His climax is needed for ejaculation to occur (for him to release semen which would contain the sperm needed for a baby).

For a female, the best time to conceive would be day 10 to 17 - this would be 10 days after the period started to 17 days after. This is the general time that the 'eggs' are released.

I hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James
