Suggest Medication To Avoid Recurring Kidney Stones
I suffered from kidney stone last week. The stone passed from kidney to bladder but unable to pass from urethra probably due to any structure that caused obstuction. After cystoscopy, doctors removed the stone from urethra and structure. Kindly suggest me the medicine and future prophylactic treatment to avoid the stone as well as structure formation. General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. Taking more water will be helpful to prevent kidney stone formation. Avoid urine to become concentrated. You can use sodium citrate or potassium citrate in water to alkalize urine which also helps. Taking cranberry juice or barley water is also good. Don't postpone when you get urge to urinate. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
