Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have headaches about 4-5 times a week. They are always severe and last quite a long time. The pain is always in the front part of my head, usually the left side. I have tried many kinds of headache medication but none of them seem to work. Should I go to my doctor?
Hi, welcome to the health care magic and thanks for asking your query here
while most headaches aren't serious, they can rarely be a sign of something more serious your headaches may be related to stress or tention or it may be caused by over use of pain killers as if you take painkillers too often, they can actually trigger more frequent headaches. Codeine-based painkillers do this more often than paracetamol or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory tablets like ibuprofen To avoid this sort of headache Don't take painkillers for more than a few days in a row and Never take painkillers for headache on more than 15 days in a month
However there may be something more serious including migraine and temporal arteritis and if your headaches are too long and do not respond to OTC pain medications i would strongly suggest you to visit your GP to get it examined
I hope it help Thanks & Get well Soon
