Have a bad sore throat. Went to urgent care yesterday and was given hyd post-chlorpols 8-10/5 kre and told to take a dose every 12 hours. Took the first dose at 7 p.m. Took the second at 3:00 a.m. I NEED an effective palliative. Can you suggest anything?
A bad sore throat is usual follow up via strep infection or other bacterial bug manifested and hosted by upper or lower respiratory tract. Additional guidelines above the said medications: - Gargles with salted lukewarm water added peppermint oil - Cover mouth with handkerchief while coughing - Avoid cold drinks, dairy fat type items - Anti-inflammatory meds including ibuprofen, diclofenac or others - Antibiotic prescription as penicillin, azithromycin or others - Decongestant syrup, benzyl pearls and formulations for symptomatic relief
