Suggest Medication To Cure Shortness Of Breath

my husband is extremely short of breath, he has heart issues, but the cardiologists say that his heart is not the reason for shortness of breath. Heis a past smoker, but chest xrays are unremarkable. He cannot walk across the room without EXTREME shortness of breath!! We do not know where to turn... he feels helpless and hopeless!! Please can you give us some direction??

Hi,

It's a pretty simple question really. I cannot say in your particular case, but generally, the question is how much air is being moved by the lungs and how much gets in. The first is tested by a pulmonologist with SPIROMETRY and the second is with an oxygen diffusion test. If these are normal then it is not the lungs. While a cardiac source can cause shortness of breath, if cardiologists don't find a heart reason, it is not at all likely to be that psychological causes are pretty common.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
