I am a crohnes patient and i was on these tablet for the last 10 days Spasmomen(otilonium bromide 40 mg),Dexilant30 mg(Dexlansoprazole) and Normix 200 mg(rifaximin). Is the milk reduction has somthing to do with these medication? I am drinking 3 Ltr water everyday, eating almonds, oats etc....I used to pump 200 ml. Kindly suggest medication to increase breast milk
1. Although the said drugs are included in Category 'B' & 'C' which means drugs should be given only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the baby [even during lactation] thus your attending physician ust have given due consideration in prescribing these medicines.
2. Let the baby suckle on the breast as often as possible. More the baby suckles more milk is produced. Empty the breast of residual milk after each feed by manual expression.
3. Mother should be confident. Anxiety and tiredness are factors leading to decreased milk. Mother should be quiet at mind.
4. You may ask for prescription medicines like: Sataverex granules, tablet Leptaden to increase breast milk.
