hi, period was supposed to be due on 24th but its been delayed for a week now. will be going for a holiday on the 9th. want to have my period in the next few days so i will be free of period during my 2 weeks holiday. what medication can i take to induce period? ps: im not pregnant.
You are not pregnant. You are going for a holiday and want to induce periods so that you can enjoy your holidays. Medroxyprogesterone (Provera) is given for a short period of time, 10 mg for 5 -10 days. Therapy may be started at any time.
Withdrawal bleeding usually occurs within 3 to 7 days after discontinuing therapy with this medicine. Take the medicine only after consultation with a Gynae or a health care provider. Stay away from addictions if any like, smoking, alcohol, drugs, etc.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
