Hello sir, I want to delay my periods for 3-4 days as I have my marriage on 16 April & my dates of last month of starting of periods is 13 Feb & this months its get stated on 15 March. Please suggest me the medicines which has no side effect or very little side effects to delay the periods for 3-4 days and in what doses I have to take.
Hi & Welcome. If you are not taking any oral contraceptive pills, to postopone your period you need to take one tablet of Norethisterone (5 mg) 3 times a day, beginning 3 days before you expect your period to start. You should take the tablets at the same time every day, one in the morning, one around mid-day & one in the evening. Continue it for the days (3-4 days) you want to postpone your period. Then stop the medicine and wait for 7 days. Withdrawal bleeding will occur within this time period. Since this is a prescription medication you need to take it from your local doctor. Hope this works. Best wishes.
