Suggest Medication To Postpone Periods

Hi my last period date was 22 and it sometimes comes before 2 or before 5 days. I have a trip on 20th and I don t want them to start before this trip. Today is 15th and I feel I might get them in a day or two. How should I take regestrone ? Wil it work since I already feel I ll get periods in a day or two ?

Hi,

To postpone your period, one tablet of Norethisterone-5mg should be taken three times a day 2 to 3 days before your expected period. It may be continued until you wish your period to resume. A normal period should occur 2-3 days after you stop taking the tablets. It should always be taken 2-3 days before the expected period because at the time before a period, the level of progestogen hormone falls and this causes the lining of the uterus to be shed as menstrual period. By taking Norethisterone tablets the levels of progestogens are kept artificially high, and so the period does not start.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
