Suggest Medication To Stop Recurring Gout Flare Ups

I have been having gout flare ups for the past 3 mths. I have been to the dr and been given a steroid shot and colchicine. This helps but doesn't take care of the flare up for very long.
I take Bystolic 20mg and Lotrel for HBP.
I need advice on what to do next.
Please help me!!!

i understand your concerns.
i would adivce you to consult your doctor and get an alternative drug prescribed instead of the drug you are currently using for HBP. Lotrel in some patients results in frequent exacerbation of gout.

Also apart from that dietary modifications can prevent flare ups.
here are some dietary recommendations to avoid frequent gout attacks:

Restrict the amount of red meat in the diet as well as the amount of protein.

Avoid foods rich in purines such as liver, kidneys and seafood.

Avoid binge drinking of alcohol and limit alcohol consumption to 21 units per week for men and 14 units a week for women, with at least two alcohol-free days a week

Drink up to 2 litres of water a day to avoid dehydration, unless advised not to because you are taking certain medication

Drink skimmed milk or consume low-fat dairy products up to twice a day
Limit your consumption of sugary drinks and snacks.

Take care!
