Suggest Medications For Degenerative Arthritis

Yes. I was prescribed Meloxicam today for my degenerative arthritis in my knee. However, I m on Lisinopril HCTZ 10 - 12.5 mg for my HBP condition. I was reading the warnings and side effects as well as the portion that listed people who should not take it. HBP was on the list. Is there another drug that would be as effective but without the risks and dangers?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Meloxicam can sometimes cause a worsening of blood pressure in some persons though it may not affect all persons in this way.

It is likely that most of the medications in this related drug family such as naproxen , ibuprofen etc may also affect your blood pressure.

You may need to consider acetaminophen , codeine or tramadol to see if one of these may help you.

I hope this helps
