Suggest Medications For Excessive Coughs With Green Phlegm

I have been having extremely productive coughs since Friday morning. I assumed it was from sitting in the stands while dust blew tremendously. I have awoke every morning coughing and producing normal (to me green) phlegm. This morning,it has turned to a yellow color and slowly turning back to green, but still plenty of yellow. My chest is rather sore this morning also. I have not coughed a lot, except in the morning, but most of the coughs are hard.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Cough with sputum production is called productive cough.
The most common cause of productive cough is infection.
Yellow colored sputum suggests bacterial infection and green colored sputum suggests pseudomonas infection (a type of bacteria).
You need to consult your doctor for clinical examination of the throat.
Sore throat can be associated with the condition.
Culture of the sputum needs to be done.
Sputum culture will show growth of pathogenic bacteria.
You can take steam before sleeping to loosen the sputum in the chest.
In case you are suffering from sore throat, you can do saline gargles.
