Suggest Medications For Itchy Leg Post Hardware Surgery

I had surgery to remove hardware in my leg a week ago. It has become so itchy in the last hour that it woke me up and I can t get back to sleep despite only 2 hours of sleep in the last 24 hours. Is it normal to be so itchy? What can I do to relieve the itching other than a cream?

I really appreciate your concern looking to the history given here I would say that operative wound some time induces the itching because of the reactive phenomenon of granulation in other word this is because of the healing process this does not need any treatment because in couple of days this would come around, take care and have a nice day.
