Suggest Medications Other Than NSAIDs For Severe Pain Due To Broken Toe

On Sun 6/15 I broke my rt big toe. The X-rays revealed it is a break totally across the joint but straight so no surgery should be necessary. I wa advised to stay off it, use ice, wrap the 2 toes together, wear a Velcro shoe they gave me and a lrg boot w/ Velcro straps. The pain is so severe I have not slept since the accident. I ve tried the couch, chair, floor, pillows & everything thet suggested. They gave me Vicodin 3-525 to take 1-2 every 4 to 6 hrs. I cannot take NSAIDs dye to gastric bypass. Nothing is helping what do yo reccomend?
