Hi, I have donated the blood recently and on the second day of the blood donation i See bruising around the part where the needle was pierced. First it was in light green color and on the tird day it has turned to dark red. I have donated the blood for 7 times and i don t see any issues but on the eight time i sas this bruising and still it has not gone. Will this lead to any issues?? Is it harmfull?? What precautions or what medicines i have to take. Please suggest me.I am orried about this scare on my hand.
I have gone through your query. Bruising after needle insertion is due to inflammation of vein (thrombophlebitis). This is a complication of the procedure and there is no need to worry. It is not harmful, only you need right treatment. Ointment like Thrombophob should be applied over it and it will disappear in a week time.
Hope I have answered you. Wish you good health Regards Dr. Gaurav Katiyar For further queries you can contact me directly on http://bit.ly/DrGaurav
