Suggest Medicine For Diabetic Nerve Pain In Fingers And Toes
I met with my dr yesterday regarding moderate to severe diabetic nerve pain in my fingers & toes...and he prescribed (GABAPENTIN). bUT AS i READ MORE about it, it seems to be more for various types of seizures, which don t have....not sure what to do...meds are on the way.....
Hi there. There are few medications indicated for diabetic neuropathy. Gabapentin is one of them. Though its a seizure medication it is used for neuropathy. The other drugs are pregabalin, amitrypytylline, duloxetine. They are all used for other reasons as well ranging from depression to seizure. So don't worry. start with 100 mg at night and increase gradually as needed. Discuss with your doctor. How is your blood glucose level? There are a variety of non medical therapies for neuropathy. I will be happy to discuss personally if need be. Regards, Dr PRaveen
