Suggest Medicine For Nausea And Severe Headaches

I have had the worst headache of my life for the past two days. Tylenol helps a little bit but doesn t make it go away. It is so bad it makes me in my sleep. I have had plenty of headaches before but nothing like this. Also feel like I could throw up from the headache being so severe.

Hi,

Was the previous headaches also associated with nausea / vomiting? Any visual disturbance / photophobia / difficulty on hearing noises? Any family history of migraine? Severe headache with nausea is most commonly caused by migraine- here the above said features can be present. It will not come while sleeping, and will be relieved on taking a nap in dark and quiet area.

Other possibilities are head injury (only if there was a history of fall/head on collision) and uncontrolled hypertension. Try taking paracetamol+ibuprofen for pain and domperidone 10 mg, both thrice daily for two days. If not getting down or other symptoms develops, please see your doctor for evaluation of the cause and treat accordingly.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
