Suggest Medicines For Swelling Caused By Tick Bite
I had a tick bite a few weeks ago. I did remove the tick after it broke into my skin and caused some swelling around the area it penetrated. I now have rash on my legs that looks like chicken pox. The tick was imbedded in the area of my knee. Is it possible the tick is causing this rash?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As per your case history, you are suffering from insect bite Dermatitis. My treatment advice is:
1. Do not squeeze the lesions as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like Fusiderm cream on it. 3. Take an antihistamine medicine like Levocetirizine for 7 to 10 days. 4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics and oral steroid taken only after consulting a Dermatologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Harshit Bhachech
