Suggest Medicines Other Than Benadryl For Bronchitis

My 18 year old daughter just returned from ER for bronchitis and a very bad headache, chest pain from coughing and fever and chills. Among other drugs, he gave her one oxycodone pill which, after four hours, and now ifs home, she is feeling agitated. I thought the ER doc said if she developed this symptom, taking an antihistamine would help. She is allergic to Benadryl. If an antihistamine would help, what other ones would you suggest? Thanks.

Thanks for posting your query.

Better alternative to Benadryl is Fexofenadine or desloratidine. You can try this .

But more than that I think she needs an antibiotic and a bronchodilator medicines that will give her relief from her symptoms . Also I would not recommend to continue taking oxycodone as that drug itself can cause Agitation. Paracetamol would be better.

Kindly consider for Antibiotic and Bronchodilator medicines , ask your doctor for that.

Also ask her to take steam inhalation 3-4 times a day , give her hot food , avoid non veg food and Citrus fruits.
