I am a type 2 diabetic patient.I am 28 yrs and it s been 8 months since I was diagnosed. I take metformin 500 mg bd and gliclacide one tablet in the morning. I went for a party today and forgot my evening metformin tablet. I came home after the party and took the tablet just now.My glucometer reading was 12.8 about half and hour before. Should I do anything immediately? or will my glucose level will come back to normal within a few hours? Thank you very much.
Your blood sugars would decrease in response to the metformin.
An effect would start to occur within 1 to 3 hours of using the medication. This is the time it takes for maximum levels of this medication to occur after ingestion.
Your should take your morning medications as normal.
I hope this helps
