Hi,I am Neethu Vipin (Dietitian & Nutritionist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 22 years old and have smoked off and on for almost 2 and half years. I always smoked about a pack a week and then quit for 7 months. I have recently quit and am still smoke free!! My question is how long will it take to become healthier, and can any or all effects be reversed by time and/or healthy diet and excercise?
Lung is an organ which do not have regenerative property. What ever ill effects of smoking would have affected your lungs at tissue level can certainly not be restored but the oxygenation of your body can certainly be improved by doing pranayam exercises.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Eshan Awasthi
