Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have recently been told that my cholesterol is quite high at 6 and also that i have a low white blood cell count, i am concerned as i have not been taking contraception for over a year as we want children but i have never got or been pregnant! Could one of these be the possible cause? I have not consulted my doctor re: not getting pregnant as we are not desperate but just thought if it happened it would be nice! Thanks for your help
Hello, Thanks for using Healthcaremagic. i had gone through all the data you have posted. high cholesterol levels are not directly related to pregnancy, but conditions like hypothyroidism where you may have problems regarding menses may exist along with cholesterol abnormalities. kindly let us know the cholesterol values so that we can decide whether they need treatment or not. low wbc count are commonly seen in viral infections, it would be more easy for us to comment if you can provide us the entire complete blood picture report. if you are trying for pregnancy and your menses are not regular kindly get thyroid profile done. kindly avoid oil foods, fried items, bakery foods. do regular physical exercise. get back to us if any further query. hope this helps.
