I am trying to give you some more information regarding to your concern.
A female diagnosed with Hashimoto thyroiditis is advised to increase by 25% the dose of levothyroxine when she has a positive pregnancy test.
During pregnancy the demands for levothyroxine are higher and the reference levels of TSH are lower (0.1-2.5) during the first trimester.
I agree with the dose 50 mcg and suggest to check the TSH every 4 weeks. It is very important for the baby development and for a good pregnancy outcome to maintain normal TSH and FT4 levels.
Hope the information will help and feel free to ask if you have further queries.
Kind regards, Dr.Mirjeta
