Suggest Natural Remedy For Anxiety Disorder

Hi-I am trying to find an all natural remedy for my 28 yr. old daughter in law. She suffers from anxiety and has stopped taking her prescription anti anxiety medication 1 year ago because she would like to try and have a baby. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Relaxation techniques (muscle contraction followed by relaxation) help with anxiety. The proper methodology for doing relaxation exercises can be found online. There are several videos available that walk viewers through contraction and relaxation of each muscle group.

I also suggest opting for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as it has been to proven to be at par with medications in terms of efficacy. I encourage your daughter in law to consult a psychologist/psychiatrist for the same.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Sanjana Nagraj
