Suggest Non Narcotic Pain Relievers While Having Rods And Screws In Back
My son is 24 years old. He had a motorcycle accident when he was 15 yrs. old. He broke 5 vertebrae in his back and pulled all the muscles from the back bone. He had a successful surgery where he ended up with (2) 18 inch rods and 18 screws in his back. He started taking Lortab at age 18, moved up to Percocet and He had been taking Oxycodone and Oxycontin for the last 2 years. He had been using the meds for a while to get high at times. He is curently in rehab. He will be getting out on Nov. 9. He is currently off of the Oxycodone and Oxycontin in which they weaned him with Subutex. He has been off of the subutex for 2 days and has been put on Lyrica and Gabapentin. He said that it is not doing much for the pain. Is there anything else that is non-narcotic that can be used?
