i wanted to speak with a doctor regarding someone who has been diagnosed with PAD. She has been told that one foot is 100% blocked and the other is 80-90% blocked. She had surgery on the 80-90% blocked foot where they put in a stint. This person is a caretaker and says she is able to resume her duties of transport, walking up and down stairs. etc. It does not sound like she is being truthful.
Hi, to be able to give you a detailed advice I would require detailed history and reports specially the angiography report. By your description, she might require treatment of the 100% blocked limb with a stent or a Bypass surgery. Does the patient have severe pain on walking or pain at night? If yes, then urgent treatment would be required. You should consult a Vascular Surgeon or send me the reports by leaving a query on my profile page. Take care, Dr Rishi, New Delhi, India.
