Suggest Options To Stop Diarrhea Five Hours Before Colonoscopy.

Colonoscopy scheduled for 7:00 am. Going into the final phase of the Ez2go prep kit which utilizes Magnesium citrate in 10oz Gatorade immediately followed up with Simethicone tablet. Here is my concern: from 3:30pm through 4:30 pm, I drank 64 oz. of Gatorade containing 238g of Polyethylene Glycol and I am still defecating a watery discharge with yellowish fecal particulate and it s 11:51 pm. The Magnesium citrate and Simethicone tablet are to be consumed 5-6 hours before the colonoscopy at 7:00 am. If I am still defecating at 1:30-2:00 am what should I do?

Continue to take the prep. Diarrhea is unfortunately the goal of the prep so that the endoscopist can see the lining of your colon. you will continue to have diarrhea likely up until and after your colonoscopy. If your stool becomes clear and see through, no need to continue taking more prep. but if there is still particulate matter and cloudiness , continue on with the prep.
