Can Colonoscopy Cause Chronic Diarrhea ?
Had a colonoscopy five years ago. it was normal, but have chronic diarrhea now for five years. Did not have diarrhea before the colonoscopy, but it started right after it was done.My movements were normal before My health and energy leavel is good and I have not lost any weight. I am 5ft 3in weigh 118lbs and 80 years old. Could the colonoscopy cause the diarrhea.

I read carefully all your concerns and I understood your concerns.
with regards to side effect of colonoscopy, it can be related with acut bowel infection infection. it may be asocciated with acute diarrhea in rare cases but not with chronic diarrhea. Colonoscopy doesn't cause chronic diarrhea.
The fact that your health is good even after 5 years of diarrhea it does mean that it may be an functional bowel problem like IBS but not an organic problem.
