Suggest Pain Medication For Severe Pain In Femur Post An Injury

I m having horrible pain in my femur. I had a vertical break 18 months ago. Had to use a plate to fix it. This is the second time this type of pain has effected it. I ve taken 8 exception 7 hours ago. I ve taken 3 Tramadol over the last three hours. Iced it for 20 minutes. Pain won t stop. Any suggestions?

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, if pain is not controlled with OTC analgesics like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen and even tramadol has failed to control it, you may need to have injectable analgesics like ketorolac as well as gabapentin orally.

If pain persists, a repeat scan to see for any bony spur causing the trouble or local examination by orthopedic surgeon for any associated nerve entrapment or injury causing such severe symptoms should be ruled out. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Regards
