Suggest Penicillin Alternatives For Sinus Infection
I ve been prescribed Levofloxacin for sinus infection with some fluid buildup in both ears. I read the information given to me with the prescription and I m incredibly concerned about taking this medication. The side effects sound very serious and could appear a long time after you stop taking the medication. I m allergic to penicillin, is there possibly an alternative to pencilin with less side effects?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Varinder's Response
first thing first ...levofloxocin will be prescribed for a maximum of 14 days ...and will not having long lasting effect ..you may take other alternative as azithromycin or roxithromycin ...please donot take unnecessary tension of reading pamphlet as there rare symptoms and rarely seen symptoms are also given ...main thing is that antibiotics are not usually given for more than 14 days in majority of infections...
