You have not mentioned your age. Some acne occurs due to hormonal factors at puberty age which generally get cured after some yrs itself. There are some triggering factors for developing acne which have to be avoided. Stress, oily skin may predispose acne. You have to avoid the triggering factor to prevent recurrence. Again acne needs a long term treatment to prevent its recurrence even after cure of it. Insufficient treatment may be a cause of recurrence. Topical clindamycin with adapelene ointment has shown good result in acne. Tazarotene may be used in refractory cases. Oral antibiotics like doxycycline 100mg daily to be taken 30-45 days depending upon result. Another 2month course with 50mg daily is needed to prevent recurrence. Minocycline can be used in refractory cases. Its important to consult a doctor first for the diagnosis of acne vulgaris as there are some other pathological conditions which may present with acne like rashes.
