Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Dear sir, I am Kesavarao and i am having minimal hydrocele problem from one year. Some times i am getting pain in my right testical. My doctor prescribed me Piroxicam beta cyclodextrin 20mg tablets and he suggested to take these tablets when pain occurs. What are the better prevention steps for normalising this minimal hydrocele?
It is collection of fluid between two layers of testicular covering membrane. It causes swelling of scrotum. Large collection of fluid causes testicular shrinkage. In adults, hydroceles do not need treatment, if there is normal testicle or the patient remains asymptomatic. There is no preventive measure for hydrocele. Surgery is the best treatment. Sclerotherapy by injection is also available but its success rate is low. Advice 1. Consult a general surgeon for surgery 2. Wear a scrotal support – T band 3. Ibuprofen 600 mg per oral after meal if pain is intolerable Thanks
