Suggest Quick Weight Loss Plan Before Having A Knee Replacement Surgery

Hi,I am 54 years old and overweight. I have been losing weight since before Christmas. I am playing with the loss of twenty pounds. I didn t exercise for the last two weeks because of long work hours. That project is over and I am back on track. I had a doctor s appointment this week and I have to have a knee replacement. He said I need to lose 35 lbs. before I can have the surgery. This will means that my surgery will be in the late summer to early fall. How can I speed up the weight loss with the intent of keeping it up after this initial 35 lbs. Thank you, MJ

Hello,

Diet control and proper exercises will be the key to loss weight. Avoid fat and highly food. Rapid weight loss is not recommended and gradual weight loss over a period of couple of months will be better.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
