Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had 3 c-sections. The last one being in March of 2014. For weeks now my c-section scar has been bothering me. It has oozed some and bleed just a tiny bit twice. It is red and if touched it is painful, but if left alone it is ok for the most part. What could I do until I can get in to see my OBGYN?
You have blood and pus oozing out of the C- section scar because of infection. Keep the scar clean and apply a topical antibacterial ointment. Do not do any heavy work, avoid weight lifting & exercises.
Get physically examined by your gynae at the earliest. If the wound is opening it may required to get closed by staples, stitches or surgical glue. You may need oral antibiotics.
Procedures like Laser therapy, injections are effectively helping erase C-section scars.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
