A titre of 1:80 or 1:160 is not diagnostic of typhoid. the titre should either show a rise of 4 fold rise at an interval of 2 weeks or a titre of > 1: 200 is considered presumptive evidence of typhoid. a clinical examination is required to confirm this diagnosis. regarding HBsAg positivity a repeat test is required to confirm the positivity. reexamination should be continued for 4 months for liver function tests after the initial positivity of HBsAg. if clinical findings and liver function tests are normal in these 4 months you can be considered aysmptomatic carrier. yearly assessment of liver disease is recommended thereafter.
