Suggest Remedies For A Burn Injury On Skin Of A Child
My daughter aged 3 years got burn injury from bike silencer. Local doctor advices to go for a artificial skin surjery to prevent pain from routine dressing. He also says that my child has to be given anesthesia. Is this procedure is safe and advisable?
Based on the history you have shared, management depends on the area of skin burnt as at times, graft from other places may be needed to be put to replace it and can lead to prompt healing.
Repeated cleaning under general anesthesia to remove dead or scar tissue so that new skin development can take place may be mandatory otherwise. Meanwhile, local antibiotics dressing may be advantageous.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
