Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i have a cut on the lip and it had stitches in it it have scab on it but it has flat white pus like spot kind smell what can I put on this to help dry it up had a round of antibiotic don't have any more. still pretty sore have been put ice on it what do I need to do
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
As per your complain it seems that a cut on the lip that has been stitched and had flat white pus indicates that there is infection at the site of suturing and although the pus has resolved but the area is sore due to inflammation as the inflammation does not resolve overnight and takes time to resolve.. I would suggest you to apply a combination of antibiotic and numbing gel over the lip and along with it you can also do cool compresses over the sore area.. Avoid any lip cosmetics and apply only petroleum jelly in case if there is dryness.. Avoid licking or sucking the lip.. Drink plenty of water to prevent dryness..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
