Suggest Remedies For A Red, Swollen And Painful Area On The Knee Post A Bug Bite
II believe I got bite by some type of spider or bug last weekend while I was camping. I have a red circle on my leg that hurts when touched or if I bend my leg certain ways. It is kinda warm when I touch it and hurts when i barely apply pressure. Im debating on waiting to get it looked at or going in right away. It doesn t seem to be swollen to me. My jeans don t help since they rub when I move in them. It red and seems to be irritated. I would say the actual bite is the size of a quarter but is red around it about as wide as a tennis ball Bending my leg to far also makes it worse. It is right above the bend of my knee on the inside of my left leg.
Hi, Insect bites create sometimes a port of entry for bacteria inside your skin. This causes bacterial infection, which needs to be treated by oral and topical antibiotics. I would recommend Ampicillin PO and a Bacitricin creme, but since these are prescription drugs, you will need to see your doctor. If left untreated, the infection can spread and affect a eider area of your skin. I would not recommend it. I hope I have answered your question. Wish you good health.
