Suggest Remedies For A Viral Fever

I have just started recuperating from a week-long spell of viral fever which has greatly weakened me & prevents me from carrying out normal work, which affects my schedules seriously, besides giving me a cadaverous emaciated look people stare at in disbelief! Please advise me the fastest way to become normal, as all my programs have got delayed.

hi ,although most of the viral infections ,fevers are self limiting, the residual effects are really painful, such as loss of weight & APPETITE,HAIR LOSS,VITAMIN DEFICIENCY,JOINT PAINS & SWELLING.
please start on good appetizers, multivitamin drugs like revital or zinc supplements, good nutritional foods (vegetables & fruits),fresh fruit juices.
keep good hydration
.it takes at least 3 weeks to fully recover from a viral infection

General & Family Physician Dr. Muhammad Ali Rauf's  Response
hello
thank you for contacting HCM

viral infection takes its time to resolve itself after it completes the cycle. antibiotic does not effect viral infection. i would suggest you to take acetaminophen for fever and drink ample fluids.

hope this answers your question. if you have any further question then feel free to ask.

wishing you good health.

General & Family Physician Dr. Michelle Gibson James's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It can sometimes take weeks to gain full function and appearance after an infection.

Your body would naturally regain its weight as your appetite returns to its pre infection level.
To speed up your weight gain you can consider increasing the caloric value of your meals.

This entails increasing portion sizes, increasing meal frequency and also adding dressings/oils/butter to meals (to increase the calories).

I hope this helps
