Suggest Remedies For Addiction Of Otrivin Nasal Spray

Hie Doc, I am also addicted to otrivin. 2years before i started using otrivin, since that when the climate changes I need otrivin atleast for a month. Earlier days I used only at nights for better sleep. But day by day I started using at night and day as well. Resulting in this also it affects my ear and mouth as well. I consulted other mbbs doc as well but none of them given proper solution. Now I am really fed up of ototrivin, as I need to carry this every where I go. Please help doc and suggest permanent solution. .. Also let me know is this serious problem?

HI.
Very nice to know your concern. Very well thought decision to partake with Otrivin the great- as it works the best but makes one habituated too.

Please remember : there is set of 3 symptoms in nasal problems
1-Sneezing
2-watering nose
3-blockage.

Now manage this way: Whenever you have sneezing or watering nose - use steroid nasal spray alone- (NO Otrivin).

Otrivin to be used only if there is a block.

This works in a way- by acting on mucosa the steroid nasal spray works the best for the first two things- automatically the blockage and your need of Otrivin will get reduced to nil.

Over time your need of spray also reduces..
This helps all my patients.
