Suggest Remedies For An Abrasion On The Leg Of A Diabetic Patient
okay. Thank you. my father is a diabetic and he has a wound now on the leg tip that is ampueted. he is afraid the wound is not drying quickly. the wound came from the scratches(fatigue) caused by the artificial leg he puts on for walking. so now he can t use his artificial leg. can we use hydrogen peroxide for the wound?
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.
You can apply peroxide and have regular wounds dressings, however, in diabetics, such infections may heal very difficult so it would be good to have antibiotic course and take microbiologic samples of wound edges. ALso, blood sugar regulation is extremely important in such cases. I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time. Kindly regards. Wish you a good health. DR. Ivan Rommstein
