General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I am sorry for the accident you had with oil burn (second degree burn).

1. The very first step after burning is to apply cold/ice on the burning area. This will stop further damage and will reduce inflammation after burn.

2. Apply silver sulfadiazine on the affected area to reduce burning effect. This should be applied to the unbroken skin. If skin is broken, and fluid comes out, then, should apply antibiotic ointment together with zinc oxide and aloe vera to prevent infection and restore skin structure.

3. Water that came out is not infection but due to burn. You can send a picture of the red mark scratch for further evaluation.

You can follow my advice as above. If no improvement, should consult with your physician.
