Suggest Remedies For An Open Wound On The Abdomen Post C-section Surgery
Hi, I have a bit of an open wound on my abdomen from a c section I had a year an a half ago. This occurred as a result of a little cellulitis underneath the scar. After I was treated for that I began to get a little over granulation on the scar which somehow quickly broke open the wound a little. Now, I ve began having it packed but it s still oozing a lot which is worrying. My question is, is this normal for this type of a wound considering all that happened previous? Or should I be worried?
Better to visit a surgeon and ask about secondary resuturing. For the time being get it daily dressed with Naprosyn and Betadine, have protein rich diet and supplements, take tablet chewed once a day (vitamin C) and continue oral antibiotics preferably cefuroxime.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. AJEET SINGH, General & Family Physician
