Suggest Remedies For Anaphylactic Reaction And Burning In Esophagus
I recently had an anaphylactic reaction and the reaction continues on my skin but is semi controlled by vistaril. Later at night as I get tired it gets worse and now my toungue is all raw w/ funny spots on it and the upper part of my esophagus burns real bad all the time
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain Vistaril [hydroxyzine] is a sedative drug and is also used to teat skin allergies and as you had an anaphylactic or allergic reaction that is treated with vistaril it is fine but you need to get evaluated by your treating physician and he can advise you anti histamines and steroids [oral as well as topical] for complete relief from the reaction.. The raw feeling and spots or ulcers over the tongue can be due to allergic reaction as well as burning of upper part of oesophagus can also be due to it while there can be other causes like Laryngeopharyngeal reflux or silent reflux or gastro-esophageal reflux disease or acid reflux.. I would suggest you to consult an Allergist or Immunologist and get evaluated and along with a clinical examination an upper G.I endoscopy can be diagnostic and treatment can be planned accordingly.. As of now you can gargle with a numbing mouthwash, suck ice and drink plenty of cold water for relief..
Hope this information helps.
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
