Suggest Remedies For Black Stools During Medication For Throat Infection

My daughter had throat infection with high fever.doctor suggested us to give SUMO L DS medicine thrice in 3 days . But on third 《today》day morning my daughter had vomiting and some loose (black) motions. I read about medicine on net.what should i do right now? doctor said make her stool test but it will take too much time. She needs fast treatment. Doctor said this condition is not possible due to the medicine and i know i gave her proper dosage as directed by doctor.she is 6 yr old .she is very tired right now.what should i do pls tell me?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history related to your daughter who is 6 years old and your Doctor prescribed Sumo l DS for her fever. She has black stools after 3 days.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Take her to the Doctor and send the next stool sample for tests of routine and occult blood. This has to be confirmed. as taking extra iron or some medications can cause stool to appear black.
To get started on proper treatment with Ranitidine or famotidine antacid, and other necessary medicines.; Upper GI endoscopy with Pediatric endoscope mat be required as well as colonoscopy.
Treatment for fever to be continued.
Tests of blood for CBC, bleeding and clotting time, prothrombin time. platelets to be done to see for the general causes.
Blood group and other tests to be done and treated accordingly.
