What Can Cause Black Stools?

I had a black stool one time a few days ago after drinking heavily the night before. I have had acid reflux problems for 2 years and do not take medication for it. I have been binge drinking every weekend this year. I d just like to know why the stool was black because I hear that it is very harmful.

Dear: Thanks for using our service. Black stools is a sign of bleeding , most of the time, upper intestinal , as gastritis and duodenitis. it can be from bleeding ulcer too. It is digested blood and is important to take care of it as soon as possible because it can cause a cardiogenic shock if the hemoglobin drops due to the bleeding.
