Suggest Remedies For Bruised Hand Post Insect Bite

I think I got bitten by a spider or other bug this week. The whole top of my hand turned black & blue the 1st day & then the bruising moved upto my watch the second day & one inch beyond my watch the 3rd day. There stillis a lump & soreness on my wrist. The discoloration is going away. Is there anything I should be concerned about?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The bruising after spider bite and spreading area of color changes indicate most likely cellulitis stage with possible secondary bacterial infection inside the hematoma or tissue reactionary fluid retention. Kindly get prescription of antibiotics and anti inflammatory medications to help resolve it better way and prevent secondary bacterial infection flare up from this stage. Till the time of medical help , ice application with hand elevation over chest level will help best resolution of the issue in best possible way.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
